Mintage: 59,850. 19 graded MS-63, 41 higher at NGC. Ideal medium gold color starts things out for this scarcer gold eagle entry. 1908-S was struck only "with motto" unlike the Philadelphia and Denver emissions, and this is a well struck ten, although not perfectly defined, since slight softness shows at the very bottom of the eagle's talons. Aggressive, coruscating luster captures the eye with its gorgeous, lustrous velvety texture, and careful observers will discover only three or so micro abrasions on cheek.
