Whisenhunt Collection. Mintage: 4400. At arm's length, the appearance does mimic that of late-die proofs of the era, but the NGC "prooflike" designation is interesting given that examples with far more dramatic contrast have not been so-designated. Of course, collectors know that the latter Philadelphia low-mintage emissions are frequently found prooflike. The strike isn't truly full, yet the coin seems to have been graded as a proof would be, the numeric grade of MS-62 based on the level of field hairlines.
