1861 Indian Cent. Proof-66 (NGC). Incredible quality for the date collector who demands the absolute finest graded, for that is the level here. Out of the original mintage of 1,000 pieces in Proof, a mere 9 examples have been graded this high, within all the designations between both NGC and PCGS. To attain such a level a coin must earn this moniker with satin smooth frost on the devices, glass-like mirror fields and a commanding presence. Few merit the highest grade level, but this coin certainly does.
