1787 Massachusetts Half Cent. Ryder 4-C, W-5940. Rarity-2. VF-35 (PCGS). Deep charcoal-copper patina is seen on both sides. The surfaces are smooth with no sizable or otherwise singularly mentionable blemishes. The strike is nicely centered with all devices sharp in the context of the assigned grade. One of the more available varieties of the Massachusetts half cent, Ryder 4-C is appealing to type collectors as well as specialists. PCGS# 296. NGC ID: 2B22.
