Lot Description
1805 Draped Bust Quarter. B-3. Rarity-1. EF-45 (PCGS). This coin exhibits a mostly silver-gray sheen, warmer tannish-gray highlights being largely confined to isolated peripheral areas. Surfaces are a bit scuffy from circulation, although we see few individually distracting abrasions. B-3 is the most plentiful variety of the 1805 Draped Bust Quarter, and the present example represents the typically seen late die state. Bold clashmarks (as struck) are noted for both sides, and the strike is quite soft on the obverse at the letter E in LIBERTY and on the reverse in the field of stars above the eagle's head. The balance of the devices are suitably bold at the Choice EF grade level.
