1843-O Liberty Head Half Eagle. Winter-2. Small Letters. EF-40 (NGC). A warmly patinated honey-gold example with plenty of bold to sharp detail remaining in the recessed areas of the design. The Small Letters is the first variety of half eagle struck in the New Orleans Mint during 1843, and it is far scarcer than its Large Letters counterpart in today's market. PCGS# 8217. NGC ID: 25T5.
