- 1858 Pattern Flying Eagle Cent. Judd-202, Pollock-245. Rarity-5. Proof-63 (PCGS). OGH. A small eagle flies to the left in the obverse field, the legend UNITED STATES OF AMERICA around the border and the date 1858 below. The reverse exhibits a laurel wreath surrounding the denomination ONE CENT; there are clusters of five leaves in the wreath. Struck in copper-nickel with a plain edge.<br /> Originally toned in sandy-tan patina, this sharply struck example reveals no sizeable blemishes, just tiny carbon flecks to limit the grade.
