Breen Die State V. This is a highly elusive Sheldon number, and it is represented here by a deeply toned gray and rose-brown example. Microroughness to the texture is noted for accuracy, as are scattered marks that include a tiny edge nick at 3:30 on the obverse. Central reverse detail is soft, the denomination HALF CENT only faintly legible, but otherwise all major design elements are suitably bold for the assigned PCGS grade. The EAC grade is more akin to VG, however, which places this piece just outside of the 2000 Bland census. Regardless, an opportunity to add any Sheldon-111 to a collection is a significant one, and the Widmer Family specimen certainly deserves serious consideration.
