Newcomb-6. Very nice, choice, and clean example. What a neat die state with a cud on the rim between stars 7 and 8. Sharply struck devices stand out against the lovely, quality surfaces. Medium brown surfaces blend with steely olive accents, making for a PQ look. PCGS 35, NGC 25, CAC 6. This piece is within the condition census for the variety and is Ex: Lester Merkin (1/28/1971); C. Douglas Smith; Jerry A. Bobbe; Myles Z. Gerson (7/1980); R.E. Naftzger, Jr.; Early American Coppers Sale (5/1990), lot 221; Jon Alan Boka. This coin did once sell for $1,725 back in 2011.
