1950 Jefferson Nickel. MS-67 5FS (NGC). The Nagengast reference suggests even five full steps are seen on only 1 of 150 examples, although that ratio is not necessarily so extreme at the highest grades. This attractive Superb Gem not only shows the five steps, but they are crisp and free of any marks amid overall sharpness on Monticello's architectural features.
