Lot Description
1785 Vermont Copper. Landscape. RR-4, Bressett 3-C, W-2015. Rarity-4. VERMONTIS. Fine-15. 104.94 grains. Brassy golden high points against a deep golden-brown background. Obverse swelling forms a ring around the central devices, obliterating much of the mountains and some of the plow, as well as the details at 11 o'clock, rim bruise below date, reverse swelling and weakness have softened STEL, and a large, natural planchet depression softens most of the details between DECIMA and STELLA. Despite its natural flaws, the present coin is essentially free of circulation marks of any moment. PCGS# 542. Provenance: From the 12th Annual C-4 Convention Sale, December 2006, lot 597. Lot tag and paper envelope with attribution and pedigree notes included.
