Losbeschreibung: Breen Die State IV. A notable quality example of this conditionally challenged Sheldon number. Dressed in richly original orange-brown and olive-copper patina, both sides also show some steely accents to the high points. The strike is well centered and boldly to sharply executed, most feature remaining crisp and there is only light wear. A tiny carbon spot on the reverse at the tip of the left (facing) ribbon end joins a few marks on Liberty's cheek and a couple of faint hairlines in the right obverse field to identify this coin for provenance purposes. It is the CC#4 coin for the Sheldon-171 dies in the Bland census with an EAC grade of VF35; Noyes also says EAC VF35 and ranks it CC#3 in his census.
