Description du lot
1846-D/D Liberty Half Eagle. Winter 15-L, VP-001. Repunched Mintmark. EF-40 (NGC). 1890-CC Liberty Half Eagle. Winter 1-A, the only known dies. MS-63 (NGC). A very bold RPM, and popular with Southern gold specialists as such, a loupe reveals most of the underlying D above the primary mintmark and within the branch stem and arrow feather below the eagle. Well balanced at the EF grade level, this khaki-gold survivor is quite sharply defined in all areas save for isolated highpoints in the centers. Scattered handling marks are mostly small in size and singularly inconspicuous to the eye.
