Description du lot
Plenty of frosty luster remains to mostly silver gray surfaces, both sides with outlines of iridescent olive-blue to the design elements. The premier New Orleans Mint half dime issue, and the only one of the two-year Liberty Seated, No Stars design type, the 1838-O has long enjoyed strong demand among advanced collectors. Of the approximately 70,000 coins struck, the vast majority succumbed to heavy commercial use in the Antebellum South. A problem free and attractive AU survivor such as this represents a significant find in today's market.
