Lot Description

Nicholas Jackson Collection. Overton-105, "1819/8 large 9". Exquisitely struck overall, earlier dies might have helped ensure the overdate remains boldly visible with only minor magnification. What does not require magnification is the frosty white which practically blazes off the mostly untoned surface. A hint of greyish patina has started to form inside the rims but has likely ceased development as long as the coin remains in a sterile slab.
