- Description du lot
- Visually impressive surfaces are brightly lustrous and frosty with an overlay of iridescent champagne-pink toning. Sharply struck. Scarcer than even a limited mintage of 177,060 pieces might imply, the 1852 suffered a high rate of attrition through export and melting during the run up in silver prices during the early 1850s. Larry Briggs (<em>The Comprehensive Encyclopedia of United States Liberty Seated Quarters</em>, 1991) assigns this issue a Rarity-5 rating in Mint State.
