Pleasant surfaces exhibit some deep, faded rose color, but are mostly toned in rich steely-copper brown. Overall strike detail is impressively sharp for the type, especially on the obverse, although the reverse is soft at upper left border with the letters D STA somewhat faint. Cleaned at one time, yet now nicely retoned, freedom from sizeable or otherwise singularly mentionable marks is also a strong suit for this bold Draped Bust cent.
