- Description du lot
- Gloriously lustrous with a nearly prooflike look at first glance. The obverse luster is quite reflective with steely-olive brown patination with hints of golden-tan and sky blue. EVERY detail was fully rendered by a crisp and exacting strike from the dies. Clearly an early die state and an amazing GEM survivor. PCGS 140, NGC 159, CAC 40. Only ten MS65+ BN have been graded COMBINED between PCGS and NGC. Of the PCGS/CAC graded examples that have sold in auction, two were from the July 2015 sale of the Twin Leaf Collection, where one sold for $1,528 and one sold for $2,115. Before that, one sold in the Carvin Goodridge Collection for $2,128---clearly the Collector's Universe value of $1,100 is TOO LOW! We think this coin will certainly see spirtied bididng! Cert.
