This is a visually stunning premium Gem with flashy luster and vivid golden-apricot color. A popular overdate in the Liberty Head gold series, the 1901/0-S half eagle reveals traces of an underlying 0 at the upper-right corner of the final digit 1 in the date. Perhaps 1,500 examples remain across all grades, but only 400 or so in Mint State, very few of the latter as nice as the one offered here. This remarkable condition rarity would do justice to even the most advanced gold cabinet.
