- 1863 Silver Three-Cent Piece. Proof-66 (NGC). A sparkling little Gem with highly reflective fields and lightly frosted motifs. This richly toned specimen is boldly toned in a vivid array of gold, sea-green, and neon blue that really springs to life in a bold light source. The <em>Guide Book</em> gives a Proof mintage for this Civil War date of 460 pieces, the lowest Proof production run in the design type after the 1858. An aesthetically appealing example.
