Lot Description

1854-D Liberty Half Eagle. Winter 31-T. Weak D. AU-50 (PCGS). A suitable example for Dahlonega Mint type purposes, this lightly worn Five is overall boldly defined. Hazy-orange surfaces reveal no significant abrasions, although wispy hairlines do seem to suggest an old cleaning. The D mintmark is softly impressed, as noted on the PCGS insert, but it is discernible without the aid of a loupe.
