Forest Park Collection II. 1918/7-S is substantially rarer than 1916, the other key, at the about-uncirculated level. The overdated obverse die was extensively used and die-states may be discerned after years of observation and collecting experience. This must be a very early state, as the "7" is strongly visible and possesses enough presence in the slanted upright that a gap shows on either side. Later die states lose the gap toward the right. Given the AU-53 grade, plenty of luster remains visible beneath slightly irregular patina. Splashes of olive-gold and greyish blue have been strewn about the surface, more strongly present on the reverse.
