Description du lot

1854 Braided Hair Cent. N-12. Rarity-2. Grellman State-b. MS-63BN (PCGS). Light olive brown flecked throughout with remnants of faded orange red. Lustrous and about as sharp as the well-worn late state dies would allow for. The fields are heavily flowlined with a bit of distortion through the stars. No handling marks worthy of mention for the grade, but a dark patina spot is noted just above Star 12. Called the late die state, State c, on an associated Grellman card, though the dash under the upright of 1 is still visible, if ghostly and blended somewhat into the flowlines.
