Lot Description

1854 Braided Hair Half Cent. C-1, B-1/B-2, the only known dies. Rarity-1. Manley Die State 2.0. MS-63 RB (NGC). Dominant rose-red luster to both sides, the surfaces minimally patinated in gray-brown color that is a bit more pronounced for the obverse. Virtually full in strike, and seemingly smooth enough to suggest a near-Gem grade.
