An absolutely gorgeous Superb Gem with smoky silver gray patina backlit by iridescent golden-apricot and powder blue. As with earlier U.S. Mint Proofs, the 1936 Buffalo nickels were struck once, but with slower speed and greater pressure to impart full, crisp definition to all design elements. Examples of the year's Brilliant Proof variant are scarce in basal Proof-67 and rare any finer.
