Noyes Die State B/B. A noteworthy example that combines an exceptionally sharp strike for the variety with choice surfaces that are free of all but minor evidence of circulation. Hard and frosty, both sides exhibit faint iridescent pink and blue undertones to dominant copper-rose patina. Minor marks are well scattered and easily overlooked, the in-hand appearance impressively smooth and visually appealing. Ranked CC#5 in the Noyes census with an EAC grade of AU50, net EF40, this coin is a highlight of the Matron Head cent offerings in the Widmer Family Collection that would serve with distinction in any advanced early copper cabinet.
