Lot 700 1855-O. NGC graded MS-61.Well struck and nicely toned with frosty luster in the fields, and attractive orange-gold color throughout. The strike is fairly sharp and the surfaces are outstanding. Only 11,100 struck, and from that about 90 are known today. This on is certainly at the top and a glorious example of this challenging early New Orleans issue. A rare half eagle in any grade, and this one is stunning in quality.
