Darker chocolate brown on the obverse, and a medium brown on the reverse. Generally smooth surfaces with very little pitting when viewed under magnification. Near complete dentilation, with only minor rim softness along the first quadrant of the obverse. High punched LIBERTY, low date numerals, and the reverse die cracks are diagnostic for the Sheldon-41 die variety. Tied for ranking #7/8 on the 2006 Noyes condition census, this PCGS AU-50 has much to offer for the early cent variety collector. Breen Die State III.
