Lot Description

Both the obverse and reverse designs are the same that the Mint used for regular issue production of 1864 Indian cents of the No L type. This frosty and boldly defined example exhibits light rose-apricot iridescence on medium tan surfaces. A few small carbon flecks help to define the grade, and include one on the obverse before the date. This Judd number is an experimental alloy, and the <em>uspatterns.com</em> website accounts for somewhat more than a dozen specimens in numismatic hands.
