Richly toned over fully impressed surfaces, this otherwise reflective specimen exhibits a delicate satin texture to the devices that provides modest cameo contrast at isolated viewing angles. The 1878 trade dollar has a mintage of 900 pieces, all of which are in Proof format. Upper end Gem survivors such as this are very scarce and always in demand among advanced collectors.
