- Description du lot
- 1872 Two-Cent Piece. MS-66 BN (NGC). Deep chestnut brown with pleasant striated flecks of red remaining on both sides. Lustrous and sharp. The 1872 had the lowest mintage of the entire two-cent series, other than the proof-only 1873, and carries a substantial premium in all grades. At the gem level this piece stands out nicely as one of the few finest. NGC has not graded any above MS-66, and there is only a pair of Red Brown pieces graded finer than this one. A prize for a high grade collection.
