- 1859 Pattern Half Dollar. Judd-241, Pollock-297. Rarity-4. Silver. Reeded Edge. Proof-62 (NGC). The obverse depicts Longacre's French bust of Liberty facing right with legends and date surrounding. Reverse with an open cereal wreath enclosing 50 CENTS.<br />
Toned with a mix of greenish-gold iridescent hues around the peripheral legends, with the centers silver-steel. Minor hairlines exist along with a couple of trivial scuffs or scratches, as commonly seen in the delicate mirror fields. Fully struck throughout and retaining most of the original eye appeal.
