(1800) Washington Funeral Urn Medal. Baker-166A. Rarity-6. Silver. VF-30 (PCGS). 131.18 grains. Holed for suspension as virtually always seen. Medium silver-gray with lively rose and pale blue iridescence that comes into play under a bold light source. More available than its somewhat similar cousin with skull and crossbones motif, but still an elusive rarity in its own right. The obverse here is similar to the skull and crossbones obverse, but differs in subtle ways such as berry count and placement of the wreath and berries in relationship to the legend. Scattered marks are seen under low magnification, though no single mark is readily apparent to the unaided eye. A pleasing bit of Washingtoniana for your bidding consideration.
