Lot Description
1853 Braided Hair Cent. N-30. Rarity-1. Grellman State-a. MS-63BN (PCGS). Rosy faded red is complemented by steely golden olive brown. A few scattered deeper patina spots are seen on the obverse, with one at the juncture of the neck and bust being the most serious, though none seems threatening. Satiny and lustrous with very nice eye appeal. Shallow roughness on Liberty's neck is as made. EAC:MS62+ PCGS# 406050. Provenance: From the Twin Leaf Collection of United States Large Cents, Part IV. Earlier from Doug Bird, December 1994; Walter Dudgeon, June 1998; Robinson S. Brown, Jr., Superior, June 2002:1247.
