1840 Liberty Head Eagle. EF-45 (NGC). Warm honey-olive patina blankets both sides of this boldly defined, aesthetically pleasing Choice EF. An underrated issue at all levels of preservation, the 1840 eagle was produced to the extent of just 47,338 pieces, most of which have long since been lost to commercial use.
