Lot Description

A softly frosted texture is enhanced with partial crescents of vivid reddish-apricot peripheral toning. Fully struck and overall smooth, this coin has a superior "look" to many MS-64s that we have handled for the brief Arrows, Motto Liberty Seated half dollar type of 1873-1874. Evidently only 300 to 500 Mint State examples still exist, and thus collector demand will undoubtedly continue to outstrip the available supply.
