Boldly struck and vivid BU quality for this desirable type issue in the challenging three-dollar gold series of 1854 to 1889. The finish is noticeably semi-prooflike with reflective tendencies in the fields contrasting softly frosted motifs. Pretty bright honey-gold color with a tinge of pale pink.
