Lot Description

A bright, essentially brilliant survivor from this underrated early Proof Liberty Seated quarter issue. The mintage is reported as 800 pieces, but only about 200 or so coins seem to have been distributed to contemporary collectors. The Mint disposed of the balance by releasing them into commercial channels.
