A desirable example of this historic first year issue that will appeal to both double eagle enthusiasts and New Orleans Mint specialists. Warm, even color in rose-tinged, honey-gold blankets both sides and delivers pleasing eye appeal. There is appreciable luster remaining, the texture soft and satiny. Faint hairlines and a touch of glossiness are noted for accuracy, but no sizeable marks are seen. Boldly to sharply defined in a lightly circulated survivor of this conditionally challenged issue.
