A beautifully toned near-GEM 1897 Morgan. Magnificent blues, greens, violets, and gold hues swirl over the obverse in waves. Most of the obverse is toned over, save for a brilliant silver at the lower 1/4 or so. The color rates a 9 on our 10-point color scale. Sharply struck and generally clean. The eye appeal is simply stunning! Two years ago, we sold a different example in this grade with a similar toning pattern that brought nearly $1,500. This date is not like the 1896--it does not come with monster color often. Take a look at this essentially GEM example and bid accordingly. Cert. Number 28778238 PCGS # 7246
