The Bunsui Dam Collection. Overton-112, the "tall 3" obverse. The Overton series of 1823 half-dollars is rife with unusual "named" varieties but for type purposes, O-112 is often a go-to die-marriage as it offers a very attractive "3" in the date, albeit one that is taller than the neighboring "2", hence the nomenclature. An impressively original example with denim-grey overall, the peripheral areas have acquired lovely violet-pewter hues to go along with great luster. Liberty's face features unusually strong doubling along the entire profile.
