- Description du lot
- 1839 Modified Matron Head Cent. N-11. Rarity-1. Booby Head. MS-63 RB (PCGS).
Mostly full red and lustrous with a dash of toning on Liberty's face and a few areas on the reverse likely from storage. These early Large cents are hard to find with more than residual red at this point, and especially so on a popular variety like the 1839 Booby Head varieties. Sharply struck and attractive, with a few signs of limited contact in the fields. The vast majority of these, even in Mint State, are in the brown category, and finding this degree of color is quite a treat for the specialist.
PCGS# 1752.
