Description du lot: What a GORGEOUS coin! This coin has a classic old-time collection look with beautiful circular toning on both sides. While CAC did not confer its green bean to this coin, the eye appeal is better than most you will see for the assigned grade. An important Civil War era issue and exceptionally popular among collectors. The eye appeal is exceptional and very high end! Only 500 were struck. PCGS 17, NGC 12. This coin was the most recent example in PR64 CAM, sold in an NGC holder and realized $2,820 in a June 2014 auction sale. This coin has a great look to it, as very few 1865s have such bold contrast.
