- 1819 Matron Head Cent. N-7. Rarity-4+. Small Date. AU-55 (NGC). Mingled golden-brown and chocolate-brown highlights gather on the obverse, the reverse completely chocolate-brown. Some light scattered marks come to view under low magnification, most of those on the obverse, the reverse essentially mark-free, especially to the unaided eye. We note a tiny rim bruise on the obverse above star 12, and two other tiny bruises below 19 in the date. A scarce variety. PCGS# 36646.
