1652 Massachusetts Bay Colony Pine Tree Shilling. Large Planchet. Noe-7, W-730. Rarity-6. Without Pellets at Trunk. VG-10 (PCGS). 64.04 grains. Medium steel-gray with lively golden highlights. S-bent at some point and then straightened, the bend ripples still apparent. Well-worn with only portions of the obverse legend and tree visible, no serious marks present, reverse with much bolder details than the obverse and with no marks of consequence, backward first N in ENGLAND, die crack from 6 of date to beaded circle.
