- 1787 New Jersey Copper. Maris 46-e, W-5250. Rarity-1. Outlined Shield. AU-50 BN (NGC). Deep chestnut-brown surfaces exhibit patches of roughness here and there under low magnification. From a middle state of the obverse die, clash marks from the reverse shield present but date still whole and largely unaffected, no marks of consequence immediately seen, reverse completely mark-free to the unaided eye. A choice example of a popular Red Book variety. PCGS# 503.
