1739-9 Sou Marque. Rennes Mint. Vlack-225. Rarity-6. VF-35 (PCGS). 28.6 grains. Half of the silvering remains to surfaces that also show mottled steel-olive. Both sides are fully defined for the grade with a smooth appearance in hand and traces of original luster. With no examples reported from the miniscule 1738-9 mintage, the 1739-9 is the first collectable sou marque from the Rennes Mint. Provenance: From the Sydney F. Martin Collection.
