1918-S Buffalo Nickel. MS-64 (PCGS). A satiny mostly gray specimen with strong luster, and with great eye appeal that readily measures up to the requirements of the grade. Nicely struck for the date, not fully so, but much finer than the typical strike the 1918-S nickel displays, and close enough to "full" to merit mention. Some notable die clash is noted under the Indian's chin. A fairly scarce date in choice MS-64, as offered here, and obviously downright rare in MS-65 or finer; PCGS has certified 60 examples in grades finer than that represented here. A splendid opportunity to obtain a fairly sharp and definitely appealing example of an early and elusive date in the Buffalo nickel series. PCGS# 3940. NGC ID: 22RK.
