1857-D Liberty Head Half Eagle. Winter 34-DD. Large D. AU-58 (PCGS). CAC. Gorgeous olive-gold surfaces exhibit tinges of pale orange-apricot. This is a satiny, near-fully lustrous example has most major design elements sharply to fully rendered. From a mintage of just 17,046 pieces, survivors of which are among the scarcest late date Dahlonega Mint half eagles. At the uppermost reaches of Choice AU preservation and undeniably original, the present example is rare from a condition standpoint.
