1870 Pattern Quarter. Judd-908, Pollock-996. Rarity-7-. Proof-65 BN (PCGS). CAC. Standard Silver design with a bust of Liberty facing right on the obverse, a ribbon inscribed LIBERTY crossing her shoulder and a soft cap ornamented with three stars atop her head. The legend UNITED STATES OF AMERICA is around the border and the motto IN GOD WE TRUST is on a scroll below. For the reverse we note a wreath of oak and laurel leaves surrounding the denomination 25 CENTS. The inscription STANDARD SILVER is above and the date 1870 is below. Struck in copper with a reeded edge.<br /> &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Pretty olive-copper patina with intermingled highlights of more vivid medium-orange color. A smooth-looking Gem with no detracting blemishes to report.
